BOOKS: There are so many books that I could consider my favorite but whenever someone asks me, All Boys Aren’t Blue by George M Johnson is the one that I think of the most. It’s a captivating and beautiful memoir of growing up black and queer. It’s an exploration of gender, sexuality and identity. If you ever get round to it, I hope it will be everything you wish for as it was for me and I hope that people will be inspired by it, feel seen by it, especially queer Black kids.

MUSIC: I have, often, been asked what my favorite genre of music was but I’ve always been left with saying none. I think for me, it is more about vibes and what song I would be vibing to the most at that moment. Currently, I have been listening non-stop to singer Isak Danielson’s album called King Of A Tragedy. Some of you might be familiar with his work already or might know some of his songs called “Power”, “Always” or “broken”. But in his latest album, I have found myself feeling caught in what I would call, a rollercoaster of emotions. The main takeaway of his album is about becoming your true self, with each one of his song allowing you to simply be and feel.

FILM: Have you ever felt like there was a movie that was your go to? Imagine Me & You is my absolute go to whenever I feel down or whenever I think of a movie, Luce and Rachel’s love story is always with me. It will never get old!

TV: Recently, I have started to watch the adaption of Bonnie Garmus’ book called Lessons In Chemistry, currently airing every Friday on Apple TV. It tells the story of Elizabeth Zott, a scientist but there is only one problem : she is the only one who views herself that way. Her male colleagues around her treat her more as a secretary and will steal her work and her ideas thinking they have every right to do that. However, It’s not just Elizabeth and her fearless in the face of adversity that warms my heart but this story has one of the most beautiful supporting characters. It’s brilliant, heartbreaking at times and utterly meaningful. Oh, and, if you love animals, you’ll love Six-Thirty.

LGBTQ+ MOMENT: I feel like, I will always talk about this whenever I have the chance to but without exaggeration, Yaz’s coming out scene in Doctor Who’s Eve Of The Daleks will always be one of my favorite LGBTQIA+ moment. I have never felt myself feeling so seen and represented than I have with that character. The relief, pure joy and the happy tears when I couldn’t believe what my eyes were seeing. I just know that my 2018 self would be proud.

FASHION ITEM: Last thing, if you had any favourite fashion items what would they be? Mine would be, literally, every Keeley Jones’ outfit she wears in Ted Lasso. She is an icon.
